So i created a fill layer with a mask attached, made a gradient fill, ON THE MASK to darken the sky. Thats all fine. BUT once i have done this and choose another tool i never ever see the endpoints again, not when they are made on a mask... I can change the color of the latest selected endpoint but i CAN NOT see them and i can not change endpoint... Do i only have ONE shot at a fill layer then never more?

Hum, just tried to reproduce this. I can't make the gradient line and its endpoints reappear on the mask layer after setting a gradient up on it either.

You might achieve what I think you're after though, by stretching the mask layer down, or up, using the Move Tool.

Setting the opacity on the mask would also effectively change the black to a grey.

Are you trying to achieve something more involved than this?

Hope this helps.

Words are crude implements, difficult to get perfect, easy to get tied in knots with, and often - usually - misunderstood, which is why 'tolarence' is the best word of all.

The word "professional" fits us all - amateur, semi-pro, beginner, advanced, middle, beyond it all, and on....., because professionals are tolerant.

Unfortunately with the fill tool you need to redraw the gradient each time. Maybe instead use a selection to make a new layer and add gradient to that layer from fx studio (Fx are effectively live filters so they can be adjusted), or use a Gradient map adjustment and paint on the mask. I guess it depends what effect the Op is after.
