Blur Brush stopped working after 1.9 update

Recommended Posts

I updated to 1.9 and now the blur brush and sharpen tool is not working.  Tried changing the spacing on the brush to 1%, tried unchecking show brush previews in preferences, made sure nothing was selected by hitting CTRL+D and made sure only the pixel layer was selected. I have searched the forums and tried everything I could find but nothing works. Any one have a solution for this?

Mine both work (Windows).

What OS are you on?

A full-sized screenshot or video may highlight something

Using windows 10. So I found out it was working, except the effect became so subtle I wasn't noticing it. I have to brush over and over 100x times just to get the same effect as one stroke before. Does anyone have any ideas on how to strengthen the blur effect? I have played around with all of the sliders to no effect.

Same with me. The blur tool is virtually useless in 1.9. The Blur tool is actually transparent when OpenCl is on and when OpenCl is off the blur tool looks normal but useless.

Revised: I used the blur tool again in a different image and it worked fine if OpenCl is turned off.
