AshleyMNL Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 I updated to 1.9 and now the blur brush and sharpen tool is not working. Tried changing the spacing on the brush to 1%, tried unchecking show brush previews in preferences, made sure nothing was selected by hitting CTRL+D and made sure only the pixel layer was selected. I have searched the forums and tried everything I could find but nothing works. Any one have a solution for this? Quote
carl123 Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Mine both work (Windows). What OS are you on? AshleyMNL Posted February 7, 2021 Author Posted February 7, 2021 Using windows 10. So I found out it was working, except the effect became so subtle I wasn't noticing it. I have to brush over and over 100x times just to get the same effect as one stroke before. Does anyone have any ideas on how to strengthen the blur effect? I have played around with all of the sliders to no effect. Quote

The Blur tool is actually transparent when OpenCl is on and when OpenCl is off the blur tool looks normal but useless. Revised: I used the blur tool again in a different image and it worked fine if OpenCl is turned off. Quote
pleskiew Posted March 31, 2021 Posted March 31, 2021 I turned off OpenCl, but still the blur brush opacity does not work. I have read about this problem and it has been around for many years. Can't really improve this feature? Quote
Wiser Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 I had the same problem today, however I solved the issue by selecting the brush tool, then found the brush was an air brush. Switched the brush back to a solid basic, and voila! Everything back to normal. Quote
