Duplicate Affinity folders in Container folder

Recommended Posts

I just installed Photo 1.9 after deleting the last 1.9 beta.

My /users/<me>/LIbrary/Containers folder has six duplicate [Affinity____] folders. See attached image.

It seems like this has potential to cause problems and would like to delete one of each?

Is this OK and does it matter e.g. was one for 1.8 and one for beta?

Hi @BeauRX,

My apologies for the delayed response here!

I can confirm that one of these will have been for the beta, and the other for the retail version of the Affinity app as they are installed as separate programs, requiring their own folders.

This should not be an issue for the beta or retail versions as each has it's own folder to 'point' towards, so we recommend leaving the Library > Containers folder as-is, unless you are experiencing issues with the applications.

Deleting files/folders from here may result in the corruption of the Affinity app, forcing a reinstallation. The beta folders will no longer be in use if you have removed the app from your mac, so I would recommend leaving all folders here, in case you re-install a beta in the future.

I hope this clears things up :)
