jpshaw
I have image files that may not have perfectly straight lines. I want to create a svg file from the image with perfectly straight lines. Is there an easy way to do this? The first attached file is my image file. The second attached file is the svg I want to create. Thanks. Edited January 30, 2021 by jpshaw
firstdefence
Use the Pen tool to draw curves, should take long being straight lines. You could also use rectangles converted to curves which will probably easier getting consistent parallel vertical lines. Rotate the image -0.4º to get the vertical lines straight. jpshaw
Thanks firstdefence. What you described is pretty much what I did to generate the svg file. Also, I probably should clarify, I want the angles of the lines, I just want them to be straight. I was hoping there was a tool that I could use to select all those shapes in the image and generate a svg file like I attached. To create the svg originally, I went to pixel persona and used the brush selection tool to trace each object. When I did that, the lines weren't straight so I ended up using the pen tool and basically drawing the shapes over top and created the svg. I have several more of these I want to do and this is probably the easiest one. I was hoping there was an easier way to do this.
v_kyr
Probably one of those moments where you wished to have some of those missing vector based distortion tools, in order to distort multiple selections at once. jpshaw
v_kyr, any suggestions on what I could/should do?
v_kyr
Hard to tell, since AD doesn't offer what I had in mind here. But maybe this tool here can help you to distort a bunch of those selected vector angles equally at once to z-axis. - If all fails I personally would probably try to do it programmatically via some SVG scripting. sfriedberg
Find a buddy with a license for Corel Graphics Suite and have them run the image through Corel Trace, then export as SVG. (only 1/2 🙂 )
