How to edit symbol on PDF to transparent background

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I'm trying to turn one of the swirl symbols on the attached Shutterfly download into a vector with a transparent background. Specifally one of the white swirls that currently has a black background, I want to save the white swirl only ... no black background.

I've done it before with one of the other ones on this PDF, but can't figure out how to do it again, or what search term I Googled to get the answer.

I know how to set a document to have a transparent background, so that's not the issue.

I hope I've explained it well enough. Thanks for your help!

Scroll to the bottom of the layers stack and turn off the white background and the black strip ( last two layers) you will see that all the swirls have transparency.
