Guides disappear when using mesh tool

Hi,

I’m new user and cannot find any resources to fix this... When I want to use guides set place for a layer to use the mesh warp on, they disappear once the effect is activated. This is a typical photo editing necessity and am surprised this doesn’t work nor been addressed after years of complaints. 
 

will most likely request for refund and head back to Adobe. Simple fix, shouldn’t be difficult.
