PfifferlingLTM
Hi, when i will try to export to pdf, publisher crash before clicking on export button. But only at M1 CPU! MPB 2017 with same version is ok. Where is a problem? Thank you.
Staff Jon P Posted December 3, 2020 Staff Share Posted December 3, 2020 Could you let us know if you still get this in the latest beta. If you do, can you upload the document and a screenshot of the export settings you are using here. Thanks Quote Serif Europe Ltd. - www.serif.com

Staff Jon P Posted December 8, 2020 Staff Share Posted December 8, 2020 Thanks @Pfifferling, could you also upload the 2 afdesign files that are linked in this file? It seems to export for me, but I suspect it's because i'm missing those files Quote Serif Europe Ltd. - www.serif.com

marjabe
I have exact the same with my brandnew Macmini. No problem with my 2009 iMac. Concerning a A5 book with 50 pages and some illustrations in jpg, tif and png format. Edited December 8, 2020 by marjabe
Staff Jon P Posted December 10, 2020 Staff Share Posted December 10, 2020 @marjabe It sounds like the same issue (the issue being exporting to pdf can crash on macs using new M1 chip), it's logged with us Quote Serif Europe Ltd. - www.serif.com
carl varley
I am having the same issue with my mini m1, but only higher res PDFs crash. So sending them to print could be an issue using only the m1. Low res PDFs will complete the export but will be larger in size than when made on my iMac 2011 and Macbook pro 2016 both using Sierra. 25mb at 72dpi 60% jpg compression. Vs 7mb using exactly the same files and settings. When looking at the PDFs info there is a difference in encoding with the big sur mini m1 being (generic) and the Sierra iMac using (os x/MacOS) both using PDFlib+PDI 9.1.2p1-i. Not sure if that helps any. Thanks
carl varley
I have just checked the last intel version 1.8.4 running under Rosetta on a mini m1 and that exports PDFs perfectly.
Johnny Boxer
Hello, I also have the same problem when exporting to PDF. Both in the publisher and in the designer. The program crashes in the export menu. I don't even get to adjust anything. I am using a MacBook Air with an M1 processor. Mac OS 11.0.1. I'm looking forward to an update that will hopefully be released soon, especially in the current home office phase, greetings Chris
tangleman
Having the same issue. Affinity Publisher 1.8.6 crashes if the PDF option is selected in the export menu, but not any other option. Using Mac Mini with Apple M1.
