Staff Dan C Posted November 15, 2020 Staff Share Posted November 15, 2020 Hi @Wei Li, Welcome to the forums As can be seen from the following list, these camera models are not currently supported, my apologies - https://support.apple.com/HT211241 Hopefully Apple will add support for these cameras shortly, which would allow for Affinity Photo to process these images. I hope this helps! Wei Li
Thanks for the reply guess I’ll wait for Apple to update camera support for the new Canon EOS R5 & R6 soon as these cameras are getting very popular and in high demand from photographers. I can confirm that on iPad we use the Apple Core RAW engine, which is built into iPad OS for RAW support in Affinity. However on the desktop we use a mix of LibRAW and our own library for RAW support in Affinity. When new cameras are released, in order for Affinity to support them on the iPad, Apple need to add support through their Core RAW engine. In order for us to add support on the desktop, either LibRAW needs to update to support them, or our developers need direct contact with the camera manufacturer to help the development stage with these new RAW files. I can confirm that unfortunately neither Apple, nor LibRAW have added support for these above mentioned models yet - and we equally we have not been provided the required information direct from Canon to be able to develop these images. I hope this helps!
