Trying to buy AD but is not accepting paypal

Recommended Posts

Hi. I've been trying AD for some days and I think I like it, Just now I was about to buy the license under a cost of COP $188K  - After I logged in then the price changed to COP $230K  and it say it does not support Paypal on my country. Since I use Paypal all the time to buy other software on Envato and others, then I'm thinking maybe its a Serif policy. Questions are:

is it possible to enable paypal payments for my country?
What's the reason for the increase in 25% in the price of the app?
Will the price be back to normal if you can enable paypal?

Thanks

Hi @ioBilly, welcome to the Affinity forum.

Unfortunately it does not appear that PayPal does not accept payments from Colombia, you could you try purchasing with a Credit/Debit card, or contact affinity@serif.com where the team can help you setup as bank transfer.

With regards to the price increase, we set the price in US dollars for sale within the USA, from there the price shown in other countries and currencies is set by Apple based on a matrix they use for their own App Store. We have no control over that matrix or any updates Apple may make to it, and they have recently updated the pricing of our apps in their store for Colombian Peso, South African Rand, Indian Rupee and Russian Ruble. The prices shown are the new prices for the foreseeable future. Our Affinity Store matches the Apple prices to ensure the sale price the same for both stores.

Exactly, Paypal does accept payments from Colombia, specifically mentioned that I buy software regularly with it, since at least 2009.  I don't see the need to ask for an expensive and slow bank transfer since I have Paypal (which you receive, but not from my Country, for whatever reason) and credit and debit cards.

But I'm not comfortable with the timing of the price hikes. The first time I tried to buy the price was $167K until I logged in and it changed to $188K, 2 weeks or so later I went to buy for that price and magically jumped to $230K? What are the odds? Also the price monitor for the appstore does not show any recent price updates. Though that data might be wrong/outdated.

Even though the price is still fair after all the timely hikes, I'm not confortable buying from a company that has these restrictions for my country. Thanks for your support.
