How do I reveal part of an image

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, I'm just getting started with Affinity (and graphic design in general), so excuse my lack of jargon. I'm trying to create a graphic similar to the one attached. As you'll see, the person here is clipped inside the green square from his shoulder down, but his head is outside of the green square. How do I recreate this in Affinity Designer for the iPad?

Hi @itsrhysevans.

Welcome to the forum

You can do this in Designer by removing the background of the photo, to do this switch to the Pixel Persona then use the selection brush tool to select the area of the photo to be removed then from the Edit menu select Cut to remove the selected area then in the bottom left hand corner click the X symbol above the magnet symbol to deselect the area and then switch back to the Design Persona and you can now place shapes behind the photo.
