Why Can't I Assign Shortcuts to Unmodified Number Keys?

I can edit shortcuts and assign the number keys, but they don't work. Why?

I've realized that the num-pad numbers work.

I've also realized that the numbers are associated with changing opacity. I think that has something to do with why I cannot assign other shortcuts to them. The shortcut panel gives no indication of that, it just allows the assignment.

I can confirm this is a known issue, which is logged with our developers to be fixed. I will 'bump' the dev report with your post now and we hope to have it fixed shortly!
