confoozed
Hi all. I know that I can use the brush and symmetry tools in the Pixel Persona in Designer, but I don't know how (or if it's possible) to convert the result into curves for vector rendering. GarryP
The short answer is: You cannot convert rasters to vectors in any of the Affinity applications. (This functionality has been requested and discussed many times elsewhere in the forums so I won’t get into this further here.) A longer answer is: You can achieve symmetry of vector layers by using Symbols in Designer but you will need to start creating the design from scratch with vector layers. See this official tutorial for one example of using Symbols: https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/tutorials/designer/desktop/video/301628203/ My attached video shows a very quick and crude example of using symbols to create symmetrical art. 2020-10-06_08-32-35.mp4 Alfred and debraspicher
confoozed
Thank you so much for showing me about symbols! I definitely think this can replace what I attempted to do by using the pixel persona to draw the symmetry and then use them as guides to put vectors on top of. But I've used Symbols before in Sketch, so this is a delightful discovery.
