robertcbyrd
I am using a Canon 80D camera and am previewing the image in Faststone. When I load the RAW image into AP it is cropping it automatically. It is also darkening it. I am not happy. I just updated to the newest version today, September 10, 2020. walt.farrell
Photo actuall provides a larger image than other RAW image processors, because it shows you everything the sensor captured, not just the center area that the camera manufacture advertises as the image size. Other processors remove the outer edge that the manufacturer considers unreliable, but Photo leaves it, in case you find it useful. If it appears cropped to you, that may be an effect of lens distortion that was corrected. You can turn off the use of lens correction in the Lens studio panel in the Develop Persona to see if that helps. Darker: Photo provides fewer automatic adjustments than some processors, showing you the actual pixel details captured by the camera, and leaving the adjustments to you. But it can apply a default tone curve if you ask for it in the Develop Assistant. Using that option will probably make the image appear brighter, but as it's just a single curve applied to all images it will likely still need further adjustments.
