Fipo
I personally find the display of text and paragraph styles messy. Somehow I would need a hierarchy to make it easier for me to see, such as a tab for text styles and a tab for paragraph styles. Then I would also find the hierarchy useful: if one style depends on another then it should be moved sideways as dependent on that. It would also be useful to introduce colors so we would have a background for text styles, one for titles ... Etc.
garrettm30
If the main thrust of your suggestion is that you wish text styles and paragraph styles had separate studios, then I think I agree, although I do not feel especially strong in this matter. At the least, I do think a divider line between the two could be a simple improvement. Someone suggested you create an unused character style that is named with a bunch of underscores to fake a line between paragraph and character styles. I have been doing that, but I am still unsure how I feel about it. Rather, a true divider line in the interface would be welcome. Just in case you are not aware, there are a few options that may make it more to your taste, such as "Sort by Type" (paragraph styles on top then character styles at the bottom) and "Show Hierarchical" which you seem to suggest. I personally also like to turn off samples, because display of samples does make the menu look messy to my taste.
