Design the layout of a journal

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I am designing a layout for journal using Affinity Designer. I have two issues before I start:

1. A layout for  journal has many equally spacing, repetitive lines as attached photo.  I use the pen tool to draw on the grid manually. Are there any more efficient way to make it?

2. Can I have multiple pages in one file?

You have a few options to (auto-)create grids and/or guides.

According to your sample picture a baseline grid may be useful, too.

For a multi-paged, journal-like project the most effective app is APub, whereas in AD you may have more design options (especially for illustrations) but less comfort for handling pages. In particular for a journal, magazine or book you might want to work with various pre-defined, consistent layouts or objects, therefore APub's master pages can support you quite useful.
