parapixel Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 (edited) Hello, my current version of Affinity Designer on Windows is 1.8.3.641. On Mac and iPad the current version is 1.8.3. Why is the Windows version different from the other platforms? Is it a beta version? I downloaded the version from my store page. I created a file in the current Windows version of Affinity Designer 1.8.3.641 and I am not able to open the file in the Mac or iPad version (1.8.3) of Affinity Designer. I get an error message that the file contains features of a newer Affinity version. Thanks in advance for your help parapixel Edited June 10, 2020 by parapixel Quote
Staff Sean P Posted June 11, 2020 Staff Posted June 11, 2020 Hi Parapixel, They're the same version - it's just a difference in naming convention used by the Windows team. As regards to your file does it still open on the Windows version ok? If so would you be able to share your file, along with any information on its creation, as it should be compatible with all applications. Quote
parapixel Posted June 11, 2020 Author Posted June 11, 2020 Hi Sean, the file still opens in the Windows version and I solved my problem by copying the contents into a new document. In the attachment you can find the file that still triggers the error message. Phasenplan.afdesign Quote
Staff Sean P Posted June 12, 2020 Staff Posted June 12, 2020 Thanks for the file parapixel - it has been very useful. The actual issue is that the 'Enhanced Windows Metafile' format is the currently saved default in the Export Persona. This happens after selecting WMF in the File > Export dialog. As WMF is a Windows only format it isn't available on the Mac, so it is failing to read the preset and giving you the warning you're seeing. I've passed it on to development to be investigated. parapixel 1 Quote
parapixel Posted June 12, 2020 Author Posted June 12, 2020 Thank you Sean! That's very helpful and prevents me from getting the error again. Sean P 1 Quote
