Styles issue

I am having trouble with a particular section of text. I'm very rusty with AP and can't work this out.

I cannot seem to separate a title from body text. 

The body text bunches up with the title, and takes its formatting. 

And even if I delete the title, the body text will not take its own formatting - particularly the first line indent.

In the end I had to delete the title, and backspace until it met the previous para, then hit enter to get the indent. Then add the title. Works okay now.

I think you had some soft returns in the text and so your title "inherited" the justification from the text before and after. Turn on Menu -> Text -> Show Special Characters. See attached image. 1 = soft return (Shift+Enter) and 2 = hard return (Enter).
