GofGeorge Posted May 31, 2020 Posted May 31, 2020 Hi ! When I develop my raw files (CR2 of Canon 6D) the DPI are to 72. I read Affinity Photo take the default DPI in Exif datas, but I shooted in 300 DPI and when I try in Photoshop the DPI are to 300. Then I try with another raw file (NEF) and the default DPI are to 300. I tested with Affinity Photo version 1.8.3 (641). Maybe Affinity read badly the Canon 6D Raw Files ? I searched how manualy change the DPI in Develop Personna but I fond anything. Thanks for any help you can give to me!
Staff Gabe Posted June 5, 2020 Staff Posted June 5, 2020 Hi @GofGeorge, Welcome to the forums and sorry for the delayed reply. Can you attach a sample RAW file from your 6D?

Staff Gabe Posted June 8, 2020 Staff Posted June 8, 2020 Hi @GofGeorge, The file you have attached has got 72DPI in the metadata DPI is irrelevant for the development process anyways. Unless you need to print those files, DPI is just a "useless" tag. It would only be used when you print, to determine the final print size. However, if you do need to change it, you can go to Document > Resize > (untick Resample) and put your DPI of choice. GofGeorge 1
GofGeorge Posted June 8, 2020 Author Posted June 8, 2020 Hi again @Gabe and thanks for solving my problem... Sorry I never noticed my RAW files are in 72 DPI, my bad. However, we are not losing some informations or deteriorate the image when we increase the DPI after the raw development ? Thanks for your time.
Staff Gabe Posted June 8, 2020 Staff Posted June 8, 2020 Nope. DPI is just a tag. 1DPI or 999DPI makes no difference in this case. Your image still has the same number of pixels. More info here: https://affinityspotlight.com/article/understanding-dpi/ GofGeorge 1
