Warp grouped vector element in Designer

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,
I would like to know if there is any way to distort grouped vector elements as if they were a single element in Affinity Designer. For example, I create a rectangular shape and add squares to it as if it were a chessboard. To make it a single object, you would select everything and apply the "add" option. The doubt is, if I wanted to deform that board as if it were a tablecloth or any article of clothing without ceasing to be a vector (without transforming it into a pixel), how should I do it?

Thank you.

Another way but only for simple perspective group distortions ...

The truth is that what you say is very interesting. I will use this method for sure in my projects, although it is not exactly what I need. I wanted to know if, having the group (for example the chessboard), I can handle it as a vector shape by moving the anchor points, that is, take the anchor point in a corner and modify it individually. It would be something like turning the board into a waving flag or any type of clothing.

Thank you so much for your help.

The answer to that is, I’m afraid not. Affinity Designer is lacking “manual” vector distortion like perspective and warp. It’s probably one of the most asked for features.

Thank you very much!
Although I love Affinity Designer, there are a number of utilities that it lacks, which makes needing other software for some projects. I find the image tracing and the distortion that I comment on in this post to be very lacking. I hope that little by little they are adding this type of tools to be able to compete with Illustrator at the same level.

A greeting.
