Hi there

I often have to feather the edges of images (usually done with Photoshop, but trying out AP now), so am doing the following:

Opening image in AP.
Selecting area.
Feathering with 30px.
Applying layer Mask.
Export to TIFF.

I'm then placing that image into QuarkXPress, where the feathered edge doesn't display or output correctly.

If I export from AP as a PSD, however, the feathering displays correctly in Quark.

I have attached images to illustrate the issue.

Can anyone explain why the TIFF doesn't display correctly? Is it an AP export issue?

Thanks!

There's definitely something Q doesn't like about an APhoto tiff with feathering.

If I merely open such a tiff Q has issues with in PS or Corel Photo-Paint and only resave it, Q then sees the proper feathering. I'll likely file a bug report with Quark about this.
