Dmerner23 Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 I am new to affinity software and digital art on my ipad. My question is tutorials I’ve watched showed when clicking on the specific fx you are using a context bar on the bottom should change to that. Right now mine is not?? I’m using a logi Crayon and it wont let me use the blur effect or any. Any suggestions thanks Quote

Tap the written name of the chosen effect (this activates the Context menu. When you finish setting your effect tap on the studio bar not the workscreen. Tapping workscreen resets the context settings to zero. 🙂 Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). Dmerner23 Posted April 6, 2020 Author Posted April 6, 2020 I just pulled up a new project....that bottom context bar is not coming up when i select the shadow...is this a setting i need to turn on? Quote
Dmerner23 Posted April 6, 2020 Author Posted April 6, 2020 Never mind....Thank you so much I got it to work. In the class I was taking they didn’t mention (or maybe i didn’t hear) that you have to click the name to bring up the context. That Simple step has helped me create a cool smiley face Quote
Dmerner23 Posted April 6, 2020 Author Posted April 6, 2020 This might be a long shot...I am not using the Apple Pencil do you have any advice for Logi Crayon? I’m pretty happy that was my first Digital Art, but the shading needs work and it might be because my crayon is not pressure sensitive. Any way to make it smoother or is it going to be trial and error with my type of pencil? Quote
DM1 Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 For shading I draw a vector shape, give it fill of desired shade and add blur effect. Much smoother result. Dmerner23 Posted April 7, 2020 Author Posted April 7, 2020 Awesome idea thank you so much I’m gonna try that latter tonight 🤘 Quote
DM1 Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 Easier still. Select pencil tool. Draw a line to follow curve shape. Use stroke studio to shape line. Then add blur fx. Have fun.
