monancs Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 Hey, I am using Affinity Designer on my Ipad. I would like to import multiple AI files for an illustration. When I open a new project I can import one Ai file without problem I can see group and ungroup everything. But when I import the second Ai file its become an embedded layer. Can I import somehow without being embedded? I know I can double tap on the embedded file and edit, but I would like to see the other layers in the same time. Is there any option to fix this? thank you so much! Quote
LeG Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 +1 ... found your post while looking for the same thing for now I just ... open the embedded file (double click/tap) select/ copy everything paste in the original file am using the Windows version, but I am assuming it works the same way on the iPad, since you can open the embedded file as well. hope this helps for now. Dan C Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Hi @monancs, Welcome to the forums My sincerest apologies for the delayed response, unfortunately due to the current circumstances our response time is longer than normal. We're working hard to keep on top of things, so many thanks for your patience and understanding here. When Opening a file, the objects will be converted into a document, when Placing another file into this document, it will always be placed as an embedded file. I recommend placing the file, then opening the embedded document, grouping all of the layers and copy and pasting these back into the original document, then deleting the embedded document. I hope this helps! Quote
