skylamar Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 Hi. I own all three Affinity apps for Mac. I'm not a professional artist or designer, just someone who loves good software for being creative. My questions: When I create a document in any of the Affinity apps, Affinity's default color format seems to be RGB/8. Is that the format I should generally use for documents that aren't going to be printed? Is there a reason it's better than RGB/16 and RGB/32? I would think that RGB/16 and RGB/32 would be better choices because they can display more colors. Is there something I'm not understanding about the difference among those formats? And is sRGB the color profile I should generally be using too? Thanks! Quote
skylamar Posted March 30, 2020 Author Posted March 30, 2020 I apologize: I found another thread with as similar question. From that thread, it sounds like RGB/8 and RGB/16 are the more common formats, but I'm still not sure why RGB/8 seems to be the default. Quote
