Due to Corona I am forced to teach my guitar pupils online, so I scanned a music notes book via VueScan using a scanner that does duplex scans. Some of the pages had an A3 format and were folded, so the inner pages didn't get scanned. I scanned them manually so that these pages now appear at the end of the PDF document.

In the following I am not referring to the page numbers that Publisher attributes to the scanned pages within the UI, but to the page numbers within the scans.

When dragging pages to their appropriate places Publisher changes them, i.e. p. 48 is at the very end of the pdf and needs to be dragged to its proper position between pp. 47 and 49. I do that, and when I release the mouse button it turns out I moved p. 43 (???) instead. Page 48 is still at the end of the document (of 112 pages). And so on.

Is there another way to correct the page order while you are working on this (maybe key commands)?

Thank you and regards!

Hi Sapphire,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums!

When moving a page in Pages Panel make sure you single click the page and see the bluish rectangle around it before moving. If this doesn't work, can you show a video of moving your page?

Hello thomaso,

Thanks for replying!

I found a workaround which may actually rather be the right way to this: Instead of moving the entire page I inserted new pages where I needed them and x/v-ed the contents of the manually sampled pages. This turned out to be reliable – my document is finished.

Concerning dragging the pages to another location, I would have to try your suggestion. I'm not sure if I double-clicked the pages (so the name beneath the thumbnail got selected, too) or simple-clicked or both randomly, not seeing any difference.

Thanks again and stay safe and healthy!
