Aristotle74 Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 I am new to DTP and have only been working with AP for a few hours. So far most of it goes well (although I sure wish I could make tables easily in a text frame). However, I have six text frames of which one has the same font, size, and bold setting as the other text frames but appears as if it is double bolded (no such font). I suspect some accidental setting. I have attached a picture with the left frame showing normal Arial Bold and a right frame that should be exactly the same but it is slightly bolder and it is much more obvious on a Print where it almost looks like a different font but is simply more bold. Any ideas? [sorry about the distorted Star Trek title] Quote
firstdefence Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 Welcome to the forum Aristotle74, I don’t think you can attach an image on a first post but try again now and it should attach. You can attach the afphoto file which would be better. GarryP Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 One way you can get a ‘bold’ font by accident is by applying a Stroke to the text, which is easily done. See my attached video where I add a Stroke to the text via the Swatches Panel and Stroke Panel and remove it via the Character Panel (the same thing can be done the other way round too). There could be other ways to get ‘accidental bold’ text – duplicated layers, Outline Effect, etc. – but try this and if it’s not what has happened then tell us and we can look at it further. P.S. It’s not usual to make Tables in Text Frames. Tables and Text Frames are separate things which should normally be created separately. 2020-03-17 08-30-58.mp4 Quote
