derPixelgarten Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 I just opened a file, which I created in 1.7.3. The fonts are totally different than I used now, when I open it in 1.8. When I try to choose a different fontfamily e.g. "Arial", Publisher displays a totaly different fontfamily "comic sans" *lol* instead. Seem to be the font-database is messed up?! I already reinstalled it, but still had the same issue. I switched back to 1.7.3. here it works fine. Quote
Staff Jon P Posted March 10, 2020 Staff Posted March 10, 2020 Hi @derPixelgarten, welcome to the forums! We are aware of an issue that is causing fonts to behave a bit "oddly" like this (and we definitely aren't trying to make people use comic sans instead :P). Can I clarify that you are referring to different fonts being used or being in a different order, you aren't getting incorrect reports from the font manager upon file load? derPixelgarten Posted March 10, 2020 Author Posted March 10, 2020 Hi @Jon P, i don't have any issues or bugreports with my fontmanager upon file load. It is really funny, because it perfectly works with 1.7.3. I forgot to say to have the same issue with designer and photo. When I clicked in the Textmenu and choosed a specific fontfamily it immediately switch to another font randomly. When I took a look into the textmanager in affinity publisher, he knew the font used in the projects, but had the status as missing, and did already substitute another font. But choosing another font, it doesn't matter which one, status was missing and the font was randomly substituted by another one again. In other programs e.g Photoshop the font is not missing. Not sure if this is the answer you are waiting for, I hope it helps. Many thanks, Paul Quote
