No drag to sort items in the assets panel on Mac

As per this thread: 

 

It currently seems possible to arrange items in the assets panel by dragging, but only on Windows. This functionality doesn’t seem to work on Mac at all.

I’m on Catalina on a mid 2015 15” MacBook Pro.
