BOOT SEE
I had to downgrade back to 1.73 using TimeMachine, as 1.80 will not load my document. It is just stuck on LOADING DOCUMENT, and it will not quit unless you force it. I highly recommend everyone to not UPGRADE, or at least downgrade to 1.73. LightPillar
I'm getting this as well on a really important file. Other files do load okay so I'm not sure what it is about this particular file that 1.8 doesn't like. BOOT SEE 1 Quote lightpillar.com
BOOT SEE
@LightPillar Same thing for me, my one important file that is not loading is 288MB, the others load fine. In v1.7.3, all load fine... If you didn't backup via TimeMachine, and you need to continue working on your file immediately, shoot me a message. Rob B
Weird issue here... EPS file took 8 minutes to open? As a test I opened 3 AF files one after another whilst it was running the EPS file?? The AF files opened instantly? Thanks Rob
LightPillar
Thanks @Gabe - I've uploaded "Spin.afdesign" @BOOT SEE - I've already recreated the file but thanks anyway! Quote lightpillar.com
Staff Gabe Posted February 28, 2020 Staff Share Posted February 28, 2020 Thanks. I've found the issue. It's the mask rectangle. Delete it (it's disabled anyways in this exaample) and you should be fine. I've also logged this with our developers.

ThomasAu
Similar issue for me, I updated Affinity Publisher to 1.8.0 and now I cannot open an important working file. It just shows 'Loading 1 document...' indefinitely. If this cannot be fixed, how would I go about downgrading so that I have a stable release that works with this file? This is a for a book due to print soon I have no time to start from a scratch and no older versions of the file open on 1.8.0 either. Thanks, TomEDIT: I figured out how to downgrade and am now back on 1.7.x. The files that would not open with 1.8.0 all now open instantly. Edited February 28, 2020 by ThomasAu Giving update on issue. I can't load the file to be able to delete it Quote lightpillar.com
