Affinity Publisher not responding after update to 1.8

I eagerly updated this morning and then nothing. It will open, but after choosing to open an existing file or create a new one (tried both), publisher just hangs.

Force quit several times but result is the same each time.

I updated this morning.   I can no longer save opened files.  It gave the 'save as' option to save as a new file, and an error came up for that, too.  So any working document has no save option.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble! Are you on Mac or Windows please? Have you recently made any other software or hardware changes?

Many issues when creating a new document on Windows are caused by out of date Graphics Card drivers, so please ensure these are fully up to date from the manufacturer's website.

I'm on a mac. Happy to say that restarting solved the issue.

I’m on windows.  I restarted. No other software changes.

Thanks for confirming that Jhuggler and I'm sorry to hear this. Could you please provide a screenshot of the error you see when trying to save a document? Have you tried to save to a different location?
