How are high resolution images handled?

Recommended Posts

I am wondering how Affinity handles high resolution images, particularly those that are scaled?

Normally in QuarkXpress and Indesign one would place a high resolution image, scale it and prior to exporting to high resolution PDF replace the image (if the desired resolution was too low due to scaling etc) with a version that is 300 dpi at 100%

I assume this is still the case with Affinity?

If not, could someone please shed some light on the best practices for using high resolution images with the intention of obtaining a high quality PDF for print production.

Thank you.

Affinity Designer should work best by simply just placing the original, high resolution image into your document and then you just carrying on and doing whatever you like with it - we don't have memory issues, or speed issues and our drawing is always done at very high quality.

If you find any problems that mean this is not the case, then let us know and we'll sort them out :)
