jbartley
Where is the location of Designer's Styles and Gradients imported on a Mac? I suspect there is a folder to which they are imported. I can not find such folder. I am trying create a standardized asset folder for imported items to distribute across different Macs in layout department. R C-R
On Macs, assets (& several other per user Affinity items) are stored in *.propcol files. (I assume "propcol" means "property collection.") The location of these folders varies slightly depending on if the app was obtained from the Mac App Store ("MAS" for short) or the Affinity Store. (The leading tilde & forward slash are UNIX-style shortcuts standing for the current user's home folder.) for MAS: ~/Library/Containers/com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner/Data/Library/Application Support/user/assets.propcol for Affinity: ~/Library/Application Support/Affinity Designer/user/assets.propcol By Gradients, I assume you mean those that appear in the Swatches studio panel. Application palettes (those marked with a small Affinity logo) are stored in the fills.propcol file in the same user folder as the assets.propcol file. Document palettes are stored in the document itself. User created System palettes (those marked with an Apple logo) are stored in individually named files in the ~/Library/Colors folder as *.clr files. There is no distinction between how gradient & solid color swatches in Application palettes are stored; all are saved in the fills.propcol file in binary coded form, so it is not possible to add, extract, or edit individual swatches or palettes other than in the Affinity app itself. FWIW, all three Affinity apps use the same file path structure for these items; only the form of the app name in the file path differs. So for example, I bought Publisher from the Affinity Store so for me its assets are at the following file path. ~/Library/Application Support/Affinity Publisher/user/assets.propcol Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.4.1 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 Affinity Photo 1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.
jbartley
I tested setting up one machine with all the imported fills, styles and assets and moved the file (i.e. fills.propcol) to a different Mac. They files loaded like I wanted. . Thank you for your help.
