Hasselbl Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 (edited) Dear Affinity Forum, I have two problems: 1. When I import RAW pictures of a Hasselblad H4D-31 and H5D-200MS in *.fff format, they are opened with a resolution of only 1.27MP / 1299x974px instead of 31MP and 6496x4872px. The Apple Raw engine does not support this particular camera model, BUT the camera s in the list of the standard SERIF supported raw files. The photos can be opened easily in Lightroom as well as, of course, in the Hasselblad Phocus program. 2. The Lens information for the Hasselblad lenses are not provided with Affinity Photo. I tried to copy the information from the dedicated folder of Lightroom, but the files are not recognized. Which File Format is necessary and where could I get the input files for my lenses? I am looking forward for your replies, thanks in advance, 'S Edited January 4, 2020 by Hasselbl Quote

v_kyr Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 LR and lensfun (used by APh) lens data isn't directly compatible. Also there isn't much for Hasselblad predefined as lenses. - However, you can take a look at this information ... Hasselbl Posted January 5, 2020 Author Posted January 5, 2020 Dear Walt and V_kyr, thanks a lot for your fast replies on the Lens problem and sorry for the spam on that topic. I should have been able to find it as well. Nevertheless, I still do have my particular problem 1 with the import of the RAW files in too low quality. Is there anyone out there who could help me with that? best regards, ´S Quote
v_kyr Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 A quick test with a Hasselblad H3D 52,8 MB .3FR RAW file from here seems to work (couldn't find any H4D or H5D raw file samples)... (RAW Format difference probably: 3FR = uncalibrated raw data with calibration data in tags on the side, and it seems FFF = calibration applied and calibration tags removed) Quote ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan ☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.2
Hasselbl Posted January 5, 2020 Author Posted January 5, 2020 Dear V_Kyr, such a beginner mistake, but I was searching for this for more two days... YES, you are correct. I used to try to import the already imported (by Phocus) picture from my HD instead to import it freshly from the CF card. Phocus applies corrections and changes the file system accordingly. But this format is not compatible with Affinity. ... so far, so clear... There are 2 options now: 1. Importing the raw files directly in Affinity and missing the lens information (the LensFun correction file does not have any usable information stored, yet) 2. Importing the files via Phocus with the benefits of the lens corrections. Export to *tiff 16bit or another format and reopen in Affinity Photo. But it increases the file size by 4. Anyway - I will try to get the lens corrections right through the LensFun explanation you quoted. I attached two sample files to play around, if somebody is interested. The raw A0009961.3FR and the Phocus A0009961.fff (imported with default settings) thanks a lot for your help! ´S A0009961.3FR A0009961.fff Quote
v_kyr Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 Well there sadly isn't much calibrated lense data avilable so far in the lensfun database for Hasselblad cams, thus any software which relies on the lensfun library here (mostly all low cost and freeware RAW converters) probably won't be that much useful for developing Hasselblad RAWs, than their own Phocus software. Beside Hasselblad's own Phocus software, AFAIK just Adobe's Lightroom supports Hasselblad cams quite well. Other major software like CaptureOne/PhaseOne seems to doesn't support a medium format competitor like Hassleblad for marketing wise reasons.
