Hansie Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 Hi, I am just evaluating affinity photo to move away from photoshop CS6. I use this for astrophotography. I am not very proficient in photoshop yet, so the sooner to go to alternative the better. As I have already many files in psd format that may need additional editing in (potentially) Affinity Photo, my first attempt (after reading many tutorials) was to see if importing worked well. It did not. Final color was entirely wrong. Then I noticed that all the adjustment layers that were originally connected to the green pixel layer were moved to other (adjustment) layers. After some reworking I got something that I recognised as close to the result in photoshop. However, I am not very fond of making such corrections every time I import a psd file. Does anyone recognise similar issues, or knows what is going wrong and how to avoid that? Thanks! Quote
Pšenda Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 Maybe a screenshot or a sample file would be useful. Hansie Posted January 5, 2020 Author Posted January 5, 2020 Herewith a screenshot of the picture after opening the psd file. I have included the channels. I notice that all adjustment layers that were assigned to the Ha green layers (lowest in the list) are now on top of that layer. Because this causes the lack of enhancement of the green information, the picture turns purple. The second picture, with the orange to blue color scaling, is the result that I get if I open the jpg version of the same picture. After correcting the adjustment layer assignment errors, I get something quite close, but not entirely the same, as I have in photoshop CS6. I read on the forum that selective colours may cause this, but did not find anything really similar. And maybe there is a work-around? Thanks! Quote
Hansie Posted January 5, 2020 Author Posted January 5, 2020 and herewith a screenshot how the psd document opens in photoshop cs6, with layers included Quote
CuriousOne Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 Hi Pšenda, Are there any updates on this? It's been over a month. I'm actually new to this software as well and not even getting my layers. Quote
