Richard Boeser Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 1. Open new document 2. Change grid dimensions in Grid and Axis manager. 3. Insert new art board. 4. Observe that the grid dimensions have been reset to the default values. On Windows 10. With Affinity 1.7.3.481. Cheers ~ Richard Quote
Staff MEB Posted December 12, 2019 Staff Posted December 12, 2019 Hi Richard Boeser, Welcome to Affinity Forums The grid settings are independent for each artboard. You must have an artboard selected to set its grid settings. In your case above (screenshots) If you select the first one you will see it still has the grid as you set it up. When you inserted the second artboard the grid reverted to the Automatic setting (Grid and Axis Manager) for this artboard. If you duplicate the existing (first) artboard instead it will keep the grid settings. I believe this is by design but i will check it out. Note: If working with pixel units (not your case above) make sure you use CTRL to duplicate the artboard - press CTRL and drag the artboard to create the duplicate (if you use ALT instead it will override the snapping settings) - and that you have Force Pixel Alignment (which is a snapping setting) enabled in the main toolbar to ensure the duplicate ends up placed/located on integer pixel values. This prevents errors when exporting the artboards to images/other file types as the decimal values will add one pixel to the dimensions of final image/files.
