The new Collect feature creates a copy for every instance of the same graphic used multiple times in a document. See the screenshot for post-collect view of the Resources panel. This prevents me from editing the main file later and having them update en masse within the document. The alternative would be to exclude these files from the collect but if I'm sending elsewhere, or just want all the artwork together in one place for archiving then I'll need to add in the 'master' graphics into the collect folder manually and update the links in the Resource panel. Whilst I appreciate the Collect feature is massively useful, is there a reason for this default behaviour?
Hey all, Thanks for continuing to improve and dedicate the hard work to make Affinity products the best on the market. I recently used AP to produce a 24-page ad booklet for a fundraiser. It was a learning curve for a production/print ready piece. I've posted some of those in the appropriate forums. Imagine my surprise when I saw that a "Collect" function was added to the beta. A welcome addition. However, will we see the ability to collect ALL files (linked files, fonts and the AP doc) to send off to a vendor. Yes, I know (and have) sent a final pdf to vendors for printing, but I have one vendor that may actually use AP at some point. Thanks!
Hi All Yet another month of fun Finally! Completed the second artwork based on #Inktober 2016 (03 Collect). From a sketch produced in Sketchbook Pro but reworked with Affinity Designer/Photo I really like the embedded file options it can save you so much time when working with compiled images Original Size 300x600mm 300dpi
