  1. I added a couple of GIFs as an example of what's going on because I'm not entirely sure how to describe it. The original file is also attached to this post. Example 1 - The brush preview seem to be working incorrectly. Note that I am NOT clicking anything, just moving the mouse. The only way to get rid of the visual glitch is to zoom in or out. https://i.imgur.com/bK3SHFl.gif Example 2 - Toggling this effect causes the same or a very similar issue where the image is not updating as it should and requires me to zoom to clear the visual error. https://i.imgur.com/gRqyQUk.gif **System Information** Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.18362 64 Bits Graphics card: GeForce GTX 1080 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 430.86 Memory: 32GB RAM - 2x16GB 2400hz Affinity Photo version: 1.7.1.404 Melchior Toon Test.afphoto
  2. I have a simple document comprising 4 symbols… Black rounded rectangle White rounded rectangle (actually off-white) Blue Donut Red Diamond Everything looks fine on screen (within AD). And it all looks fine when exported (as a PNG) But when I printed the .afdesign file from AD this happened… All the Donuts and Diamonds have a visible lighter area (square in shape) around them. Some of the donuts (bottom row and right side on black)) have the white inner reflection visible within the hole of the donut. Some of the Diamonds are incorrectly filled with the red gradient (bottom two rows). Some of the Diamonds that are incorrectly filled show the white inner reflection while others don't. Since these are the same two vector objects in every case, how can they print in so many different ways? Why did it happen? And most importantly, how can I get it to print correctly? 3. When applying a non-destructive Motion Blur filter and nesting them into a layer (tested with text layer), screen updates are confined to the bounding box of the original layer, even if the radius setting will make the result expand beyond the original bounds. Moving the result around will leave artifacts behind that can be cleaned up by forcing a redraw (eg. by toggling visibility on a layer that covers the entire document). Version is Photo 1.6.6 App Store build, Renderer set to OpenGL, Use Precise Clipping off, OS X 10.11.6. I've also had issues with the preview clipping the motion blurred result to the alpha of the base layer despite "Preserve Alpha" being off, but I cannot reproduce this after a reboot, even with the same document.
  4. Hello, First of all I have to say thank you for doing an alternative to photoshop (and illustrator) it is more than welcome! I am doing some 14k hdri panorama editing at the moment and found some things which unfortunately work not as well as in photoshop yet. Maybe there is a way to fix them!? The process: To get rid of the tripod in the picture it is necessary to do some clone stamping. So what you do is flipping the image vertically and then use the rectangular to polar filter to unstretch the floor. after clone stamping you use the polar to rectangular filter and flip the image vertically another time. The Problems: - after using the polar to rectangular filter the top of the image does a weird stretching (photoshop doesn't do that) what I do to avoid this is just making a mask and only paint in the edited (clone stamped) parts. Unfortunately the second problem is bigger: - after using the polar to rectangular filter the image is unsharp and has a weird jpeg like artifact pattern. First Problem (Stretching in the top of the image) Second Problem (Unsharp Artifacts) It looks similar to the artifacts in the following post: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/16741-rectangular-to-polar-good-results/ Thanks!

    Rasterize Artifacts

When rasterizing a number of vector objects into one pixel object, Affinity systematically creates artifacts where two vector objects edges are aligned. See the example uploads, the circular object consists of two parts that align perfectly. When rasterized, a smudge line appears. These artifacts are well-known and solved in computer graphics for many decades. They are caused by not handling pixel coverage, i.e. not take into account which part of a pixel gets covered by certain vector objects. Affinity's rasterize results are not usable currently, and require extensive workarounds that interfere badly with the design process itself. Please implement some solution, preferably a preference setting to enable heavy oversampling when rasterizing (e.g. up to 16x16 to get fully accurate 8 bit depth RGB values). There are many other technical solutions that are less cpu intensive. Test.afdesign
  6. (Edit: Sorry for not specifying in the title but this is for Affinity Photo) The grid lines appear in the live preview AND after a full exported image. I watched them render and they are perfectly aligned with the render buckets. The effect happens with various "variable blur" filters, like field blur, depth of field blur, and lens blur.
  7. Hello I have weird artifacts showing up when I activate opacity variance on a stroke ( from a path ) Any idea?
  8. Keyline view is yielding some artifacts. Note: no placed raster images, al; generated inside AD. Preview: Keyline: AD file: triangles2.afdesign
  9. Hi, First of all, Thank You for AD and making noise on the design software market. AD looks promising and I wish You all the best. Now to the point. I just bought AD and first time I started to work with it I have very unpleasant surprise. My screen goes crazy (check attached photos) after 5 min from the opening of AD. In general it is similar to graphic card overheating artifacts but I have checked temp. of everything and it was low. Even fans in my MBP was quiet. When I've closed AD everything was OK again. Other programs are working fine and no screen artifacts. To be sure that it is not related to overheating problem, I have done the same next day just after starting my MBP. It happened again after 5 min. (I was checking the watch). In this situation it is impossible to work with AD. Another curious thing in my case was zooming in AD. It was messing up with the sound. I was listening to music from Grooveshark and while zooming in/out, it was instant pause, than zoom was over and sound was going normal. I have checked the same issue while playing local music and it was ok for some time. Than screen artifacts occurred and music paused again. Can You look into it guys? I will try to help You as much as I can, cause I would like to use AD in my work. I am using OS X 10.9.5 on a Late 2011 MBP i7, non-retina with Intuos 5 touch. Regards, AJEL
