  1. HI, I'm trying Affinity to see results on EXR and HDR 360 panos, I'm pretty happy with the results, but there is a problem, after applying Persona Tone mapping the resulting image is no longer a smooth 360, here you can see what I'm talking about, before and after. So, how can avoid or fix this, this is essential to decide whether to buy the software or not (I'm using trial) Thank's! I hope someone can provide any solution
  2. I'm not sure if this is really a bug or feedback. It's been years since I used AP for making a pano, the results were not great then and I used APG instead. From this recent use AP is doing a much better job, and I will use it first from now on. I just wanted to show where one aspect where stitching/exposure values could be looked at for improvement. In the photo here you can see the pano creation made a halo around the top of the cliff/hills that was not there in the original photo. Thanks
  3. Amazed at the abilities of this software. Didn't even know that some of the abilites were even available in photo processing software
  4. Affinity, Do you guys have a video showcasing how to fill aky of a drone 360 Pano? I came across a video on YouTube that showcased this, but cannot find it, nor can I remember if it was an "Affinity" showcased Video Workflow or someone else. Due to the Zenith constraints of Drone 360 image capture, I need to fill the sky. Thank you.
  5. Hi, new user who has to possibly make a hardware purchase decision before I get back to my computer next week to test my theory. I want to know if Afinity has the ability to stitch together photos in 2 dimensions. An example would be a panorama with 2 rows of photos, one row containing the foreground and horizon, and the second row to capture the sky immediately above the foreground pics. I have seen many youtube vids showing this as a built-in capacity to Adobe products, but I have not been able to find any Afinity related discussion on the web. The reason I want to do this has two reasons pertaining to medium format (120 film). First, I have started shooting 120 film again, and am looking to find a quality method to scan them in with proportionally high resolution (please, no responses telling me I dont need that high resolution "since most people look at images on a electronic screen", and I already have an Epson 750, which produces unsatisfactory results). There seems to be very promising results by directly imaging 120 film with a DSLR mounted on a stand directly over back-lit film. Unfortunately, if I capture the whole negative with one shot of my DSLR, I am now working at the resolution of a 35mm camera, which defeats the purpose of why I shoot medium format. I have seen wonderful scans made from 4 or more images of the film (moving the camera or film between each shot where by each shot covers a different section of the negative). Then the 4 (or more) shots are stitched together by software, giving you a high res digital negative. All of the tutorials I have watched do this in photoshop or lightroom, which has the ability to do this automatically. Can Afinity Photo do this? If not, I imagine I could create 2 panoramas (one for each row of the negative) and then stitch those two panoramas together, but would prefer automation. FYI the other reason I want to do this is to achieve higher resolution with my DSLR by taking multiple images of the subject in the same way I would shoot the negatives mentioned earlier in my post. thanks!!!!!
  6. To prepare a equirect-picture (pano) normaly includes som modifications. 1 -> eliminate/modify the nadir view 2 -> optimize the picture 3 -> level the picture Point 1 and 2 works perfectly in Affinity 1.5 What about point 3- leveling? Will we see this modification in the future? Today I use PtGui to level the panos.
  7. I am running OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 Beta (15G19a) on both the MacBook Pro MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) and iMac (27" - inch, late 2013). Have been running betas for awhile and this is the first time this has happened. Is this the OS X or AP making strange. Working on a pano and was having some problems with it not stitching one of the images. So I thought that I might bring this problem to you as the same thing has happened on one of my other panos. LR 6 (stand alone, therefore no updates) stitched both of the images very well, but as I love this product of yours, I would prefer to send LR to the wind one day. As well I was trying to use the inpainting tool to fill the small amount of image that was need too complete. The image was cropped but the inpainting tool keeps picking up the transparency and does a terrible job. Tried putting a solid layer behind. Finally used the Stamp Tool. Noted that someone else on the forum had posted something about the Inpainting Tool not working well. Was planning to bring this issue to the forum today but then this happened. Last day with AP 1.4.2 from App Store File - Save History With Document File - Save As - iMac Desktop Transfered via AirDrop to MacBook Pro, fast, better to upload with Closed AP 1.4.2 Today on my iMac Clicked on image on desktop AP Customer Beta ((1.4.2 RC1)) trying to open it. Crashed, message that I needed the App Store version opened Safari, then App Store where it says Open Same thing happened on my MacBook Pro Deleted the Beta version Opened AP 1.4.2 (on both iMac and MacBook Pro) File - Open Recent - (file was there and it opened it correctly) File - Save (not highlighted) Save As (active) Save History With Document (still ticked) So I tried File - Save As (with a new name) - desktop Tried to open the new file directly - Beta again tried to open it as I assume it was not a total delete. This has never happened before. So is this the OS or AP? Try to open another image that was created with AP Customer Beta ((1.4.2 RC1)) prior to the latest OS X update and it is doing the same thing. Unfortunately the photo file is too large to upload here.
