Hi, how can I set up the master page so that the text frames are linked, and new pages are automatically inserted when text overflows. I want to create a book in Publisher for the first time. So far, I have been using InDesign. When I placed the content there on the first page from a Text document, InDesign automatically inserted the required number of pages. Can this also be done in Publisher? It would be important because now I do not want to manually link the text frames on over 250 pages. Thanks for your help.

Hi all, On a new document, I create a master page. On that master page I create 2 text blocks. I link both of them. I go on my first page, I apply the master page that I created just before I insert some long text. I wanted publisher to automatically create all the pages needed to get all my text visible. I doesn't. My text goes from block 1 of page 1 to block 2 of page 1 then nothing… What have I missed ?

I ran into a program-breaking bug. I'm suprised no one else reported about this. In the main text frame I applied proper styling: line spacing, paragraph spacing etc. The overflowing text, in a linked text box made using the proper link tool, the paragraph spacing is way larger. Alright, might be a styling inherited from the word document, no biggie, but: it doesn't respond to any paragraph spacing changes. Line spacing also does not respond. This all works fine in the first text box, but all text in linked text boxes/overflowing text does not respond to spacing settings. I have tried pasting text without styling, resetting Text Styles, but it all doesn't change the problem I am describing. This is absolutely program-breaking as I can't properly format documents with long texts now. I attached pictures to show the difference in paragraph spacing between the original and the linked text box. All text has the same styling applied to it (Body) with identical line- and paragraph spacing settings. There's literally no difference between the text- and paragraph style settings whatsoever. Note that in the linked text box (with the red annotation) the paragraph brake is not a manual line break, this really is a paragraph break with no extra special characters inserted whatsoever.

Select linked text frames with image wrap cosmetic
thetasig posted a topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
Using AFPUB 1.8.3, OS X 10.15.3. Cosmetic? Please see screenshot. The 4 text frames are linked for text flow. The images within all have wrap settings of "jump" with 3mm spacing. If you select all of the text in frame 1 with CTRL-A, the selected text is ghosted in the wrong places. You can see, for example, the bottom 2 text frames have "shadow" highlights that precisely match the actual text in shape, but are somehow shifted down below the actual text. This seems to be related to the size (spacing) of wrapped images and perhaps the flow link to a new spread/page as I have just started using the "wrap" feature and have never seen the problem before. It's a cosmetic thing, I suspect, but the highlighted "shadow" boxes should be exactly overlaying the actual text. -
Apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere, but I couldn't find the relevant info. I know that most of the advanced text handling was to be released with Affinity Publisher, and I can understand/appreciate why. So I'm just curious, now that Publisher has been delayed for a bit, do you think any of those features will make it into Designer this year? In particular, I'm interested in flowing text between linked text boxes, and optical tab stops. Thanks.
