I have used many painting programs and I have been using Affinity for a while and always understood that erasing things left a grey/white square block visual to show there was no colour or content to show at that point. However, today, working on a graphic in turn in both Affinity Photo 2.4.2 and Affinity Designer 2.4.2 I use the erase tool, the flood erase tool but with either I absolutely can not make the erased area appear anything other than white, despite there being nothing below the layer. I have explored the settings for if there's a custom colour to set for erasure but no luck. Web and forum searches also turn up nothing. Working on a predominantly white image this is extremely awkward. How do I set that running erase on any type of layer shows that when there is no content to show for that point on the image that it displays the usual grey/white square blocks rather than any block colour (in this case white). Thanks I think this has occured since the 2.4.2 update last week but I am not certain.

Please unify the function and control of Flood tools. Flood Fill Tool: (why doesn't Blend Mode label like Tolerance and Source?) Flood Select Tool: I understand that the Mode is important for the Select Tool and therefore comes first - but why isn't the order of the other controls the same as the Flood Fill Tool? Why is the Source before the Tolerance, and in the Fill tool is at the end? Flood Erase Tool: Why Erase doesn't have Contiguous and Antialias options? I understand that it is possible to use the Flood Select Tool and then press Delete, but if the Erase function is already there, why can't it have the same options and thus the same function? Thank you.

Hi there, I'm running the latest AP 1.10.1 and noticed a glitch when using the erase tool. 1. normal settings for erase tool = good performance. 2. using the stabilizer with the erase tool causes weird performance issues ( see attached) 3. once these weird performance issues show up then the history undo function doesn't appear to work. 4. Help 5. Thanks for your help. I am using an 2 year old iMac with lots of Ram ... Greg CJ

Day before yesterday I was able to open a JPEG and then go to Pixel Persona, then Erase Brush Tool, and then use the tool and pixels were easily enlarged and removed with the erase. This tool is not working. Please help. Is there someone I could speak to verbally. I have good computer skills and can be walked through the issue I'm sure. I've also tried to use the Pen tool to mark the outline of the object and it doesn't seem to work properly for me either. I suspect I have some tool enabled or disabled that needs to be reset. I've reviewed many Vimeo and YouTube tutorials I did see where I found I could use rasterize assistance and easily trace around the object I'm trying to crop (remove the background) and then I cannot figure out how to eliminate the background or make it 'clear'. If you have a link to a tutorial that would walk me through these issues, as listed above, then I'm happy to try those too. Do you have a telephone help line? I promise not to misuse it. As you can see I've been trying to resolve this for two days on my own. The instructions you sent did allow me to see pixels, however the Erase Brush Tool is doing nothing to my JPEG. Do I need Affinity Photo to make this process easier? Thank you, Becky
