  1. Hi, I was wondering if I'm not doing something right...I've tried using the flood fill and gradient fill and I get no color. I would like to start with a basic layer and color it. I'm new to affinity so i didn't know if I missed something. Thanks
  2. I was playing with the Bitmap Fill, which is buried within the Gradient Fill type Pop-up menu. This doesn't make too much sense as a Bitmap is not a type of Fill Gradient.... Perhaps a better place is as another tab under the Move tool's Fill pop-up palette from the toolbar across the top:
  3. Hi I have Just bought affinity to replace illustrator and i am loving it but i am still trying to figure out how to do certain things. I have started to create a ad for new balance as a project for college i traced the shoe using the pen tool but i didn't close the shapes i just started new lines. Is there a way of colouring the shapes or will i have to close each line and make a shape. the attachment might make this make more sense. Thanks Untitled.afdesign
  4. This one just covering the basics of the fill tool, also covering using a repeating texture with a bitmap fill...
  5. Does AD have a shortcut for changing this mode, of fill and stroke - http://prntscr.com/4y8uav, except key "x" ? I mean, like in Illustrator, keys - "<" for colour, ">" for gradient and "/" for none. It will be very useful to have keys like for colour and for none. Drawing will be quicker.
  6. Is there a 'hatch' pattern to fill objects (e.g sections in technical drawings). I did these by hand and it took too long. A hatch fill would be really useful, especially if it was scalable and rotatable.
  7. Just another colour request. More often than not I want to use the same colour for strokes and fills. This means 2 trips to the palette. Currently the default is to open the 'colour' window - the swatches window would be more useful for the majority of users as we'll already have a defined palette in place. This would cut out yet another mouse click. Here's how Freehand did it (and other apps do similar). The 3 small squares at the top of the palette refer to "Fill", "Stroke" and Stroke + Fill". For fill only - highlight "Fill"(as shown - left option) and select the colour. Stroke (centre option) works the same. "Fill + Stroke" (right option) selects both fill and stroke. The swatch palette remains in view at all times. It does away with 2 separate pop-up windows, cuts down number of mouse clicks - saves lots of time on detailed work. Also Freehand let you "show" and "hide" names of colours - really nice feature.
