I have added Affinity Photo as an extension in Apple Photos. When using Apple Photos, I am able to switch to the Affinity Photo extension and continue editing in Affinity Photo. After editing in Affinity, I close and save the document to return to Apple Photos. The edited photo is then displayed on Apple Photos But when I click 'Save Changes' in Apple Photos, I get the error: Has anyone encountered and fixed this error? fixed in Apple Photos and/or Affinity Photo? Thanks for any help.

Hi. I have just purchased Affinity Photo 2 for use on my Mac. Using the affinity "extension" I can edit the image direct from Photos but when I try and save back to photos I get the error message "Unable to edit with "Edit in Affinity Photo". Any ideas or suggestions??? Cheers

Hi there. I'm on macOS Sonoma 14.2 beta and Affinity Photo 2 v2.2.1. I'm trying to edit an image from my Photos library in Affinity, but when I click on "Save Changes" in Photos, it tells me that it failed to save the changes and a crash report pops up for AffinityExtension. This has been happening for longer than I've been on macOS 14.2 or Affinity Photo 2.2.1. I attached the crash report and a screenshot of what Photos shows after this happens. It's able to see the changes (and update the preview) after I close the document out of Affinity, but just will not save them to my library. AffinityExtension Crash.txt

I select to modify a photo in Apple Photo, and than to edit directly in Affinity photo. Affinity Photo opens and works finer, than I save and close and I go back to Apple Photo. I select to save the modifications, but it does not work. At this point, the system stops and a message says: "Impossible to modifify with Edit in Affinity Photo. An unexpected error has occurred". I have not been able to solve the issue until now. maurizio

This still works if I use V1. But with V2, it will only save as an—af file. I am currently using an iMac 3.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 with Ventura 13.5 Any help on this would be appreciated.

Hello. I'm having this error with every jpeg picture, that doesn't allow me to edit a picture from Apple Photos with Affinity Photo. Here below, you can find the steps to reproduce the issue. It happens with every single photo. In Apple Photos: Open a photo (jpeg) Open the Adjust panel Go to "Extensions" and click on "Edit in Affinity Photo" The picture will open in Affinity Photo where you can do your processing. Close Affinity Photo, saving the changes when requested. Back into Apple Photos, there is a very small thumbnail of your photo and a text reading "Editing complete - press Save to keep these changes" Click on the "Save Changes" button An error message appears stating that "Cannot edit with Edit in Affinity Photo - there was an unexpected error" None of the Affinity Photo adjustments have been saved after the error. What can I do to edit a photo from my Apple Photos library with Affinity Photo? Thank you. Best regards.

From photo library, photo->edit->"edit in affinity photo"-> perform edits->save results in a pop up window that says "unable to edit with "Edit in Affinity Photo" An unexpected error occurred." see attached image- this use case is repeatable. Hello, I have tried numerous times to open a photo in Apple Photos, and then send it to Affinity Photo for editing. I can send it via contextual menu or by opening Edit in Photos and then using the " ... " for extension activation. After editing in Affinity Photo I close the editing photo and attempt to Save Changes in the Apple Photos edit extension window. The edits do not save and I get an error message. I remember this use to work. Am I doing something wrong now? I am attaching a low bit-rate video (lens correction, straightening, and cropping) showing the process and result. Die Funktion "edit in affinity photo" funktioniert nicht. Wenn ich ein Foto damit öffne, erscheint zuerst ein Hinweis "edit your document in affinity photo, then close it". Wenn ich das mache, erscheint die Aufforderung zum Speichern der Änderungen. Wenn ich dann zu Fotos zurück gehe, kommt meist die Meldung "editing complete (16MB change limit exeeded - document will be flattened) - press save to keep these changes". Nach dem Speichern erscheint die Meldung "Bearbeitung mit "edit in Affinity Photo" ist fehlgeschlagen Ein unerwarteter Fehler ist aufgetreten". Auch wenn die Meldung zum change limit nicht kommt, kann ich die Bearbeitung nicht speichern. Dann erscheint die Meldung "Änderungen an "edit in Affinity Photo" konnten nicht gesichert werden Beim Sichern ist ein Fehler aufgetreten, Bitte später erneut versuchen." Woran liegt das?

Affinity Photo Edit failure.mp4 When editing in macOS Photos app, you can choose the options to edit in external apps. Affinity Photo has a number of options here. If I choose the edit in the app, having made changes in Affinity and returned to Photos app, the changes are not saved. The attached video shows then problem. FYI, this is running on an M1 Mac running Big Sur

This problem seemed to be fixed with AF 1.8. But suddenly it occurs yesterday during my workflow. I'm using AF 1.8.1 and Os Catalina. Uwe

You cannot save edited pics from this app to the photo app in Mac OS Catalina .It is well known problem at Photoshop ,I have deactivated my account there because of it and they admitted to me that this was a problem.Apple support for third party apps is woeful .The best I can do is export my edited pics to desktop and manually drag them in to the photo app on my brand new mac.

Why Affinity is not working in the Photos extension??? It is time to update Affinity!!!
