  1. A long time ago I reported this bug with a trial version of Affinity, now I have purchased the bundle and I see that they have not solved this problem. When I try to open certain files, affinity just won't open them!!!! It only shows a small message: "Loading 1 document" and it doesn't go from there, it doesn't let me close the program either and I have to do it from the process manager. On my iPad and Windows the file opens normally, the problem only occurs on MacOS
  2. hey, so I've been trying to open my affinity publisher file for days now. it keeps saying loading 1 document and never opens. it can be loading for nearly a day and still not open. it uses so much of the laptops RAM to try to open the file but never actually opens. I am using a MacBook Pro 2017 version.
  3. Dear sirs Since I updated Affinity Publisher to version 2.2.0 I can no longer open my files saved in Affinity Cloud. The screen always stays on “opening file”. But he never opens them. I'm a doctor and I have several saved files. He always worked normally. Not anymore. I looked for solutions online. I saw that there has already been or has been a similar case. But I didn't find the solution. I use MacOS Operating System, currently version 14.0, Sonoma. iMac 24 inch M1 and MacBook Air M2. Publisher version in Brazilian Portuguese Thank you for guidance.
  4. The file is 5,7 MB and is stored on iCloud. I can open the file from my iPad and from my Laptop (M1, 16 GByte, Sanoma), but it takes hours to load the file on my iMac (M3, 24 GByte, Sanoma).
  5. Hi, Over the last few weeks Affinity designer has taken a long time to open and also a long time to open files. Now it simply refuses to open a number of files. This is a critical issue as it is affecting my paid clients work. Please see video here 👉🏻 https://share.cleanshot.com/Hl1v3tm0. I have even deleted the app and downloaded in via the App Store. Deleted again and download via website. I have restarted my computer multiple times. Affinity just won't open a number of files. Please let me know if you need more information. I am on Mac mini (M1). Affinity Designer and Mac are on latest updates. Sorry I should note this has nothing to do with the beta. Not sure how it has ended up being posted here. @Dan C , @Sean P and @Chris B would you be able to look at this thread as soon as possible. I'm unable to do my paid work without Affinity. Thank you.
  6. Dear Affinity Team, as some other users have already described here in the forum, we too can no longer open our files in any Affinity application since our update to macOS SONOMA. Both Photo, Designer and Publisher then report "X files are loaded" and it happens.... NOTHING. Nothing is loaded. We have already tried to move the files to external drives (hard drives, USB sticks), DropBox or Google Drive. Everywhere it is the same result: NO file can be opened. So it seems that this problem is not related to iCloud. Also a reinstallation of the Affinity Apps does not solve the problem. Our company can no longer work because we can no longer access any of our "old" files. We have this problem in 100% with EVERY Affinity-file! It´s absolutely reproducable on 5 Macs (2019 iMAC 27", 2018 MacBook Pro 13", 2018 MacBook Pro 15", 2x 2020 MacBook Air. All with INTEL Processor). When we create new files, they can be opened correctly. In our eyes, this is no longer a problem that should just be discussed here in the forum, but your team needs to get to work on solving this problem extremely urgently. We have received feedback from 3 partner companies that have exactly the same problem.
  7. What Application are you using? [Designer/Photo/Publisher] Publisher 2 Are you using the latest release version? Yes, v2.2.1, I checked for updates before embarking on the work described below. Can you reproduce it? Yes. Does it happen for a new document? If not can you upload a document that shows the problem? It's a problem with an existing document. Other documents are fine. Steps taken: Opened an older, v1-created publisher document. Responded yes to convert it to v2. Did considerable work on it, including Add new pages (initially 20, later a total of 50) Pasted rich text into a text frame Linked the series of text frames across the 50 pages Applied pre-defined styles to all pasted text Added an image frame, placed an image, and added a shadow All of this went fine and I left it for open for a while. I then came back and created a new PNG file (from a PDF page, using Preview) and dragged it onto one of my added pages. Publisher then froze. The beachball appeared, but it wasn't spinning as it should, rather just 'jittering' repeatedly. I could not do anything at all with Publisher other than Force Quit it. Upon re-launching Publisher, it tried to automatically open my file and again asked if I wanted to convert it to v2. Again I allowed it. It then offered to open the Recovery File and I said yes. At this point, at the top of the window it says "Loading 1 document" but it has been saying that for 10 minutes now and nothing is actually happening. I checked Activity Monitor and Publisher is barely registering CPU usage. I can show menus, switch between palettes and the like, but the document is not appearing in any form. If I try to Quit Publisher, it complains "At least one file is currently being opened" and refuses to quit. If I again Force Quit it, then it goes through the same process again. Convert from v1, yes, open Recovery File, yes, Loading 1 document... except it just isn't. I could replicate all the work I did without too much trouble, as it was basically a simple, repetitive process, but I'd really like Publisher to sort itself out. I can't provide the file for two reasons: It has not been saved in the form it is failing to load, as it is only a Recovery File (I don't even know where that is). Even the original file is in an 'undefined' location, as the "Affinity Publisher" folder in iCloud is empty. I had to find it with Spotlight (in fact via Alfred file search) where it appears in "~/Library/Mobile Documents/iCloud~com~seriflabs~affinitypublisher 2/Documents/My Story.afpub". If I put that path in Finder's Go to folder field, it just leaves me in the iCloud folder. Oh, and the PNG file was 5.4 MB.
  8. I am unable to load any previously created documents into either Designer 2.2.1 or Photo 2.2.1 in a reasonable amount of time, if at all. I am using Mac OS Sonoma 14.1. I have tried files that have been either stored locally, in iCloud drive, or in Dropbox and have the same problem under all circumstances. I read another Forum thread that describes the same problem, and suggested waiting long periods of time. Accordingly, I have waited more than an hour for a file to open in Designer and have waited 3+ hours without the documents successfully loading in Photo. I also opened a second document in Designer with the first one still open and had wait times similar to the first one. To provide an example, here is link to a 300MB file for Photo that does not load for me: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/9lt9xibnz2oyv1enviqe6/pudgyDalmations30x36A.afphoto?rlkey=likjnop9y404jxouf2emoaty5&dl=0
  9. Hi Tried opening designer file on Mac desktop but it just stuck at loading. As recommended: I manage to open same file on iPad. Resave the file and back to my desktop and it still stuck at loading. My MacOS is Sonoma 14.0. Affinity Designer v2.2.1 Any advice appreciated.
  10. Title says it all. I would appreciate some help with this. Affinity ver: 2.2.0 MacOS: Sonoma 14.0
  11. I understand I am abusing of your patience, but currently I am using Publisher twelve hours/day and you are my only beacon... Since yesterday, some files don't anymore open when I click on them (both on i9 and M2) (nothing happens). I already tried to restart the computers. The files open normally when I click them from inside a book. If I copy the file, the copy starts normally. I believe that this is a side effect of the many crashes but I don't know how to fix it. Any ideas? Thanks
  12. We've been getting reports from customers who are experiencing issues loading documents into Affinity V2 apps since updating to macOS Sonoma. When opening existing documents into Affinity V2 users are shown "Loading 1 Document" in the app's Toolbar and it appears to remain loading for sometime - customer's have reported instances of the app taking up to an hour for the document to fully load but subsequent documents appear to load normally. We have not been able to replicate this internally but we are actively investigating. This issue could be related to documents synced via iCloud and possibly other cloud providers. Users on the Apple Community pages are reporting that after updating to macOS Sonoma they've noticed that Sonoma is updating file attributes for all files synced to iCloud. If you're currently experiencing this issue, you can simply keep the app open until the document loads and you should find that subsequent documents will open and load normally. if you continue to experience this issue or you're certain you're not using any form of cloud syncing such as iCloud, please start a new thread in the Bugs section and provide as much information as possible including the following: Previous macOS version before upgrading to macOS Sonoma Affinity V2 app version Name of any Antivirus/Malware/Adware apps installed Location of document(s) e.g Desktop, USB Drive, NAS Drive Name of any cloud sync and backup services installed &/or running on the machine e.g iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive etc.. Is Store in iCloud enabled in System Settings > General > Storage?
  13. When I open Affinity V2.2 with my MacBook Pro with installed OS Sonoma, there is no further action. Nothing happens, meaning no file will be opened. No restart helps.
  14. I've just installed Samona on iMac Pro and now can't load any Affinity 2.2 documents! It just sits there saying document loading, but never does!
