when I have two paths to join, it crosses over..in other words, rather than joining both of their right ends, it joins the right end of one path to the left point of the other path. reverse curves helps none at all. How can I instruct AD to join the paths I want in the way I want to join them? Is this impossible in AD? thanks!

Correct me if I'm wrong..you have to BE in Pixel persona when doing this? -

Something I'm not getting here...I can make the new brush using that png but I can't get palettes looking like yours to make the adjustments you make..if I go into pixel persona, my brush is nowhere to be found... Is there another step in there? Many thanks..the brush you made is the bee's knees and just what I'm needing! -
Maybe this is how AD is meant to work, but if I have a shape, and place another shape on top which is longer that the first, so that choosing both, then boolean subtract, VISUALLY produces 2 shapes, but I can't isolate one from the other, color them separately, etc.. Is there a way to achieve what I 'm after?

skinny tool palette in Separated mode?
VectorCat replied to VectorCat's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
Thank you! -
I have a rectangle on top of a larger rectangle and when I have both selected and press the subtract boolean icon, the larger disappears leaving the smaller. My goal is to cut a notch out of the bigger rectangle with the smaller one. Can someone point me in the right...procedural direction? thank you!

skinny tool palette in Separated mode?

Is this possible? Right now, it goes from tall and thin 1 column of tools to 2 columns of tools. can there be an option to have it either? thank you -
Well-stated AshTeriyaki I think we can all resonate with what Petar is saying. For myself, I like my XYZ-tool to be 100% focused on XYZ-type tools. A little overlap is good but I don't want that overlap to come at the expense of the core function of that tool. Seems like everyday I'm discovering some new, extremely well-thought-out feature of AD. Well done chaps, indeed!

Smart guide values for both dimensions

Sorry..couldn't think of a title to neatly wrap this up. Let's say you're making something simple like a waffle menu icon. You take a square, option-drag it to the right, and cmd-J to get more copies the same distance to the right. Then you make the second row. be great if the vertical distance could "look to" the distance horizontally between the first squares you cloned. is this even possible? -
Certainly not, and the way the Dev team have approached AD is clear to me that you're on a vastly superior path.

Here's what I'm doing..I have a shape with a gradient fill. To adjust colors of the nodes, I click once on the node, then head to the color wheel.. now, for one of the nodes, - which all began as gray value, and I changed one to blue, and that node - correctly - kept its same gray value, but took on the right amount of blue. Next node, I picked green. However, rather than that node color keeping its gray value, it changed to the full-on green! #1 sounds and feels like the correct behavior. I am using the color picker HSL, triangle in the middle of a color "band"...this band used for selecting hue, the triangle for saturation and luminance.. thoughts?

Join has no effect..why?

ah..my bad...I didn't intend to re-walk that ground. there is *so* incredibly much going on with this great application..I can imagine you are quite busy, and I thank you all for your stellar efforts. vc -
What I'm talking about here is whether there's a control to govern how much AD will smooth out or "correct" strokes made with the vector brush? Sometimes, even if I draw an expressive thick/thin line, when I lift the pen, the line will be "adjusted" to be of uniform lenght! that ain't no dang fun! any thoughts on controlling strokes behavior when the pen is lifted?
