  1. Yeah it can be done, but I think for building up the presentation Publisher is the perfect tool that goes along with Photo. The beta version is free to use for now, give it try. I have play a little bit with it and is pretty neat for this kind of job.
  2. I have been adopting AP little by little in my workflow. All my 3D post production is done here importing my .exr files. Only one thing still bugs me is the "magic wand" when selecting a color using the material/object ID, is way too limited and is not soft or antialiased like PS. I know that there is the selection refinement but for archviz this is not ok. Now, when I try to use it for facades and floor plans is where AP falls behind since some basic tools are still missing, for example the bucket tool to read all the layers, vector fills, or create a vector object using the bucket tool to name a few. Although, I hope this tools gets improved over the time. Sorry if I misspell some tools, I'm away from the computer and I don't remember the proper names . Juan.
  3. Yeah sorry, I meant file type. But why it does it only if the file is associated to Affinity but not if the file is associated e.g. Photoline in this case?
  4. Hi all, I have noticed that in explorer if the file extension is associated to Affinity, the explorer stops showing the file extension and only reads Affinity Photo File. Here is an screenshot with the *.jpg file associated to PhotoLine: And here is the *.jpg is associated to Affinity: As you can see the Type it should read JPG File but it just says Affinity Photo File and this misleads the user since there is no way to see what kind of file it is, I have to click in Properties to see it, which is not good. Cheers, Juan
  5. Hi Chris B, You are right, it was an oversight from my side, the assets are imported correctly. On the other hand, it is a little bit odd that the gamma is set to max 2 although Windows monitors uses a gamma of 2.2 and MacOS 1.8, so setting the Windows value is not possible. Cheers, Juan
  6. Hi all, I noticed that the Gamma over levels adjustment layer has a max limit of 2, while working on 32 bit you need a gamma of 2.2 when importing assets that are not in linear mode. Cheers, Juan
  7. Hi Chris B, When I drag a picture to my current document is because I need it in that specific moment to move it, scale it, or any other transformation, and that's why I think keeping the new dragged layer is very important. For example when doing archviz, we need to drag and drop crazy amount of entourage (people, birds, vegetation, etc) and every time we drag and drop one we just move it and scale it right away since is the object that we need to work on in that specific moment, but then we realize that we were modifying the layer bellow . Cheers, Juan
  8. Hi all, I noticed that if I drag any image from the explorer, or Adobe Bridge or anywhere to my current document, the new dragged layer is not selected. Is this an intended behavior? Cheers, Juan
  9. As I can see in the video, the Flood Tool creates a new vector object which is the missing part in the Fill Tool. Sometimes getting a huge complex PDF from a client, I just need to use (like the Flood Tool) to create a new vector layer to make needed changes on it and leave the original pdf untouched, since the tool seems to read all layers and not only the selected one.
  10. Hi Callum, Thanks for your reply. This could be really helpful for archviz where we can show a "live" preview to customers on different colour options for facades for example. Could this be added to feature request? Cheers, Juan
  11. Bumping this old topic. I just checked a video from the 'Flood Tool' in Serif DrawPlus, and I don't think that there is any equivalent to it in Designer. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Cheers, Juan
  12. Hi all, Is there a way to assign the colors of a custom swatch randomly to a group of vector objects?. Let me explain a little bit more in detail. I have created my custom color palette using Create Palette From Image and a serie of vector objects inside a group. Now, what I would like to do is randomly apply specifically those colors from that palette to the objects inside the group. I hope this makes sense. Cheers, Juan
  13. Hi MEB, Thank you for your reply. Although symbols are a very powerful feature is not what I would need to accomplish the task. I work as 3D visualizer and sometimes I get from clients ready render where I need to put e.g. on a wall lines simulating wood panels, and here I would need a vector fill with the ability to change the size exactly like the Bitmap in the fill tool behave. I'm aware of the Procedural texture available in Photo beta, but I would love to have the vector power of that feature over Designer. PhotoLine has this feature where the user can add/create any pattern and the objects will fill with it in a extremely easy way. Maybe it worth for you to check it out, because I'm an Serif products sucker Could this topic be moved to feature request?
  14. Hi all, I'm considering buying Designer but one thing that I can't find is if there is a way to fill an object using vector or patterns. I only find gradients and bitmap. I know we can duplicate an object to create hand made pattern but I can't then edit the repetitions like if is a bitmap fill. Cheers, Juan
  15. For me, is just about workflow and less clicks to perform any action. 1. On the HSL adjustment layer, this: 2. Reset button on the transform tab. 3. Jitter flip X, Y brush
  16. Thanks Chris B, but the interesting part is that if the document is in 8 bit color depth, the tool works as it should be. After you download my file, follow my steps and then repeat the same steps but only after converting the image to 8 bit.
  17. Hi all, If I try to modify the HSL control points on a 32 bit image in the blue channel for example to green, nothing happens, I have to click on the green channel in order to see the greens affected...(is better a video than words). Everything seems to work fine if I convert the 32 bit image into a 8 bit one. I'm attaching the sample file. Cheers, Juan HSL_32_bit.zip
  18. Thank you for point it. I have to say that it is a powerful feature, although I have to admit that thie flip X and flip Y could be implemented in the Jitter to make the workflow smoother, but for the time being I'm glad there is a workaround. Would it be possible for mods to move this to feature request section?
  19. Thank you, I didn't think about it. Sadly I just checked how the layers are named and this is not possible, since all the layers are without a name. But anyway, would it be possible for you to explain how I could build a Macro to select the layers based on their names?
  20. Thanks for checking it . I think the important thing here is that the team is considering to do something to support it at some point. In the short time I have been using AP and see how the beta evolve, the team has risen the confidence on me on how they are open to implement and listen to us and our crazy ideas.
  21. Thank you again for your time, I look forward to see the selection by attributes implemented. Well, we can use this topic as another example on why the selection by attributes is needed. Even if this feature is added only to Designer... my wallet is ready
