Exactly this - and quark could do it aswell. I used to underline words in kids books with dots, and apply a rainbow gradient... it was funky and easy to do with Underline.

I completely understand your needs. However, PDF format was authored by Adobe, it's an Adobe file type, it was made open source in 2008, hence why other applications can write to PDFs now. However, not all third party apps are good at writing/creating PDF files, nor are third party apps all compliant in viewing PDFs. Hence, Acrobat and Adobe are still a necesarry evil in this scenario. It's my opinon that I always open a PDF in Acrobat, it's the only true viewer of all PDF modules and components, considering that Adobe is the author of the PDF format, it's the only true viewer of actual content. Everything else other than Acrobat is a crapshoot in viewing/outputting PDFs etc. And there's not really I or anyone else can do about that. PDF format is Adobe.

Really should also have the option to create Master Pages when creating the document. And adding text frames would be a very welcome addition.

But that doesn't improve the Place feature, it just complicates it. I've been placing images and realise I may have put the image in the wrong frame, for instance, and the hitting undo, the image does not go back into the placeholder, nor does it go back into the Place panel. Therefore, it's not really working as expected, it's cumbersome. Hitting undo in most applications will undo the most recent action - and this does not happen here.

Regardless - there is no next page, so there should be no next page number.

How do other systems do it then? InDesign handles it quite well, as did Quark. Word even allows dotted or wavy lines. I think it's something that would be essential to a lot of workflows.

Got it to work thanks. Didn't need the caret. It's a nice feature - can you customise these and make other variables?

Definitely can't get it to work on the PC - will try the Mac tomorrow when in the office.

I can't edit the fields - there is no "more" option as per the help file.

At the momen it's not possible. You can't even select a page range. It would be a nice addition. You can separate to single pages using acrobat pro.

You should apply your global colours using Styles - Table Styles for instance would be ebtter than putting your calendar on the master page.

They would release - as you need to edit the text. Therefore no longer linked. Different to how indesign works - as it will remain linked to the master page but only elements that are changed are no longer linked. Seems to be that once you unlink from the master that's it.

Not seeing a View>Panels menu?

Are you sure you haven't released the items from the master page?

It looks like you used a Picture Frame from the border of your box. Actually looks like you have 2. Change these to the Rectangle using the shapes. I agree - the lines should not export!!!

Applying the dash through the above dialog doesn't work for me. And there's no dotted stroke. Like to add that it works in the character styles dialog box for a new character style.

Be great to have a dotted as well dash option. If it's already there please let me know

Is it possible to offset the underline of text, change the stroke type too, maybe dotted, or dashed? The interface for Text Decorations is looking like this. Confusing Dialog You'd think adjusting the stroke weight would affect the weight of the underline - but this isn't the case - it adds a stroke around the text. There is no way to adjust the stroke weight of the underline - that or I'm missing something.

Sliding the slider the pt doesn't go up beside the Width. And inserting a pt size in the dialog box doesn't cause the Width slider to move. Seems broken

There is a Next Page Number and Previous Page number in Text>Insert

I've inserted "Next Page Number" on the master page. However, on page 3 it says next page is Page 4 - but there is no page 4. This should only show page - then no next page number.
