Has been talked about before… (possibly other threads too).
I agree it would be a nice addition as I find the current implementation too small / fine for some of my work.

You can already do this.
on menu select Export. Pick format and tap Share button at bottom left of screen. Select app such as Photo and a copy will be opened in Photos.
