  1. For years I have been an ardent supporter of Affinity Photo. However, I have to confess that with this latest upgrade, 1.1.01.1142, for the first time, I've been an unhappy camper. I have noticed very slow response to my actions. Sticks, and delays. I'll move a clip, and have to wait for the clip to actually move. It gets worse the longer I'm in the program. I'll resize a clip, and nothing happens for some time, 30 sec to a minute. AP is becoming unworkable. I'm using Win 11. And I can't find the option to disable graphics acceleration on my computer. Finally, after some use, the app sometimes just goes off into never never land, and I have to reboot. It is not good when using a program only causes intrepidation, and fear. Hopefully, the devs are aware of this major problem and will address it in the next upgrade.
  2. Does anyone know if there are plans to add the match color feature of that "other program"? It would make this already fantastic program even more awesome.
  3. Please excuse me, I'm a newbie to AP. But I would love to second this suggestion. I am told that PS has a tool to automatically blend skin tones. As it is now, I have to do it by sight, adjusting this, fiddling with that, tweaking this layer, poking that life filter. And it never seems quite perfect. If I understand this suggestion, with my limited understanding, this new tool would make it almost automatic. So... I second this suggestion. Anyway, that's my two cents.
  4. Thank you, Firstdefence, and Carl123. I did check the lock aspect ratio, and it was checked. Based on Carl123's info, I did a little check, and found his explanation did clear up my confusion. I tried it manually with a pic, and noted the adjusted number after I entered my desired width. Sure enough, after the macro on a different pic, I got the desired width, but with the same exact height of the first pic. So, at least I know that I'm not going crazy. I will just have to resize manually. Oh the horrors of such a heavy task. /s. I still love Affinity, and love learning about it's power. Once again, thank you to everyone for your help.
  5. I like to resize the document I'm working on to a certain number. So I tried my hand at macros to accomplish this. I turned on the recorder, selected the resize document tab, entered the size I preferred, 4000. Hit enter, etc, and closed off the recorder. These are the steps I do manually, and they work. When I try the macro, however, the picture distorts usually into an elongated version. I can't find what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Thanks to everyone who replied. The problem vanished with the next windows update. So I'm guessing it was a hiccup on windows, not AP's fault. Thanks again for all the help.
  7. OK, Dan, Here's the error file from the crashreports. In the meantime, I'll try the other beta. Thanks for all the help. 518812ff-efc0-4d49-b88a-c8a56196e872.dmp
  8. I found the crashreport folder manually on my computer, and it was empty. I am guessing that the crash reported isn't functioning as it should, even to generate the report, not to mention being able to accept input, and transmit the file to you. As for an external font manager, I don't recall installing one. In either case, I certainly didn't add one between the time AP worked, and AP stopped working. Is there a "safe mode" in AP that I could load where it does NOT try to load the fonts from my system, just fonts withing AP?
  9. Thanks, Dan C, I've noticed that the app gets stuck at "Loading Fonts". That is when the error message pops up. Since I posted this, I've uninstalled AP, and reinstalled it, and entered my registration key. So, I know it isn't coming from any of the extras I might have added. i.e. the macros, the brushes, etc. So, the Error reporter still does not allow me to enter any data to send. And the clear settings options you mentioned, suffers a similar problem. I click the clear all button. And then the continue. It disappears, but I have no way of knowing if it does anything, as the same error box shows up. Am I the only one with this problem? If you give me the name of the error file AP generates, maybe I can attach it to one of these posts. I'm missing my AP.
  10. After the latest windows update, my beloved Affinity Photo will not load. I get an "unhandled Exception" error. The crash reporter comes up. But after three (3) keystrokes, it vanishes. So I cannot report the error or even give my email. The reference in the edit box is : d8888c29-e25b-41f3-9fd0-d66a1ed61ca1 . please any suggestions would be most welcomed. Thank you.
  11. Thanks, Callum. Sorry to hear there are no plans for this tool. Guess I'll just have to do it the hard way, and learn some techniques and work arounds. Having the color picker being able to pick from a range is a big help. And there are certainly a lot of other settings to fiddle with to get the desired match.
  12. Greetings Everyone. I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any plans to add a color match feature such as the one in that other program, ahem, that shall go unnamed. I use the Windows version of AP, and love it. But matching skin tones can be tedious, and hit or miss. I was surprised to learn there isn't an existing tool for that. As a novice to photo manipulation, this is the only tool that I think would really make AP more perfect. Until then, does anyone know of a good work around? Thanks for any suggestions.
