  1. Count me in as needing DDS support. Yes, Gimp supports it and is free, but it doesn't support the newer DDS formats that newer games are using.
  2. Doesn't seem to be consistent. I tried it. Created a new .aphoto file. And opened the export screen. As soon as I changed one of the options, it said the file was modified. Tried again with another existing file, and it didn't show as modified when changing the export options.
  3. I see. So it only happens if I change the export options, not just exporting itself.
  4. I searched for this, but could not find anything. When I'm editing a .aphoto image, and save it, then when I export, it then shows the .aphoto file as "modified", when no modifications were made. Why would an export be a modification?
  5. A PNG base layer. I have a macro which applies the style and crops, done it thousands of times. But when imported, the style portion of the macro didn't work, neither did the style work manually. I had to create a new style, and new macro, and both work now.
  6. I tried searching for this, but nothing relevant came up. When I installed Photo V2, it asked if I wanted to import all my custom stuff from V1, and I said yes. They came in, but the styles don't do anything. I had one that I used often for a simple outer shadow with specific settings, but nothing happened with a layer selected and clicking the style. Anyone else seen this?
  7. I always turn off startup panels in every app, lol. I didn't block emails from Affinity, because they weren't sending me stuff daily. If they had been annoying, I would have unsubscribed. So I saw the V2 email and purchased.
  8. I've been using XNView for close to 20 years now. At the time, I tried others, like ACDSee and FastStone, but XN did what I wanted it to in an easier way, for me at least. I'd also be interested in an Affinity-based image manager.
  9. There's no reason you couldn't install it now, and uninstall it when the MSI is available. Unless you had other reservations about the MSIX in general.
  10. You don't even need the cd command. Since the alias already points to that. only the second line is needed. I just tested it and it works fine. Better than your first suggestion (which does work and I was using), which will break after the first update. The bat file should be good indefinitely.
  11. The aliases did not work for me. I had to use the actual executable buried in Program Files\WindowsApps, which is typically hidden by Windows. I know that path name will change on an update, but I see that They are going to offer traditional MSI installers for those who want it, so I'm happy to wait.
  12. Because 99% of my use of APhoto is selecting images in XNView and hitting Alt 2 (the shortcut in that application for APhoto that I assigned). That doesn't work with V2 if there are spaces in either the path or filename. Photo v2 just gives me a bunch of error messages. And the shortcuts created by dragging the icons from the start menu to the desktop aren't visible to other standard applications. The shortcut I manually created is visible, but the result when I try to pass data to it is above. For me, to use PhotoV2 in the way I've become accustomed to using every other application I have used for the last 20 years is the issue. It is not worthwhile to have to open V2 separately, then navigate to the drive>folder in question, then reselect all the files I had already selected in my image manager, then open them. It may seem trivial to some, but it isn't to me. I'm not trying to pile on the Serif, I've enjoyed their programs. But if their soon-to-be solution doesn't let me function in the way I've outlined, it's not worth my time.
  13. This doesn't work properly if the path or filename has a space. Yes PhotoV2 will open, but the file(s) won't. It needs a proper fix.
  14. Mark, I can create a new shortcut on my desktop that will successfully launch Photo 2, simply by supplying the executable name in the link. But, I cannot then use that shortcut from another application (in my case, XnView). It tells me the same thing as if I had tried to execute by directly navigating to the exe. I'm new to the discussion, so I've probably missed something in your posts. At any rate, I never uninstalled Photo V1, so I still have functionality. Hoping this gets fixed soon so my workflows can still flow with the shiny new Photo/Publisher/Designer V2.
  15. Been shuffling some hard drives around after a failure, and just want to copy all the brushes I've imported into AP to the new install. Can't locate the brushes. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!
  16. I would rather it not guess. I chose a specific ratio for a reason, to crop out an image with that ratio and orientation, not a guessed one.
