Hi, When using the crop tool I still experience lots of unnecessary scrolling, because the scroll tool is changed for the worse! In the old version it opened nicely with the top/bottom borders glued to the image top and bottom like it should. In the new version it opens like 300px or more above and beneath the image, this implicates a lot of scrolling for every image you have to crop. Wonder what the idea is behind this, but it slows down the work flow heavily! Regards, David

Hi, Never seen this before, but when I export a slice in Affinity designer latest version like I always did with the previous version the surrounding of the slice is still there. Did something changed in the latest version that I have to adjust or change or do I do something wrong? Regards & Thanks, David

Nonsense! There are several plugins for the use of webp in Wordpress like https://wordpress.org/plugins/webp-express/ Seems like there are always people looking for arguments against good ideas for future development of Affinity like webp. We are using webp in every website we create including Wordpress for years now. All major browsers can work with webp except for Safari therefore we use a jpg fallback. Only for Google & Co and SEO reasons you are a fool when you don't implement it in your website. Example: A cross browser background image (unfortunately not possible to create in Affinity Photo without the use of a webp converter): <picture> <source media="(max-width: 475px) and (orientation: portrait)" type="image/webp" data-sizes="auto" srcset="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==" data-srcset=" Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-Phone-webp/home-back-phone_vsimc2_c_scale%2Cw_480.webp 480w, Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-Phone-webp/home-back-phone_vsimc2_c_scale%2Cw_905.webp 905w, Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-Phone-webp/home-back-phone_vsimc2_c_scale%2Cw_1200.webp 1200w" class="lazyload"> <source media="(max-width: 475px) and (orientation: portrait)" data-sizes="auto" srcset="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==" data-srcset=" Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-Phone-jpg/home-back-phone_vsimc2_c_scale%2Cw_480.jpg 480w, Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-Phone-jpg/home-back-phone_vsimc2_c_scale%2Cw_905.jpg 905w, Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-Phone-jpg/home-back-phone_vsimc2_c_scale%2Cw_1200.jpg 1200w" class="lazyload"> <source media="(min-width: 476px) and (orientation: portrait)" type="image/webp" data-sizes="auto" srcset="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==" data-srcset=" Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-Tablets-webp/home-back-tablet_asvcpy_c_scale%2Cw_768.webp 768w, Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-Tablets-webp/home-back-tablet_asvcpy_c_scale%2Cw_1213.webp 1213w, Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-Tablets-webp/home-back-tablet_asvcpy_c_scale%2Cw_1536.webp 1536w" class="lazyload"> <source media="(min-width: 476px) and (orientation: portrait)" data-sizes="auto" srcset="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==" data-srcset=" Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-Tablets-jpg/home-back-tablet_asvcpy_c_scale%2Cw_768.jpg 768w, Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-Tablets-jpg/home-back-tablet_asvcpy_c_scale%2Cw_1213.jpg 1213w, Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-Tablets-jpg/home-back-tablet_asvcpy_c_scale%2Cw_1536.jpg 1536w" class="lazyload"> <source media="(max-width: 4800px)" type="image/webp" data-sizes="auto" srcset="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==" data-srcset=" Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-wide-webp/home-back-wide_q1epvc_c_scale%2Cw_500.webp 500w, Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-wide-webp/home-back-wide_q1epvc_c_scale%2Cw_1656.webp 1656w, Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-wide-webp/home-back-wide_q1epvc_c_scale%2Cw_2400.webp 2400w, Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-wide-webp/home-back-wide_q1epvc_c_scale%2Cw_3007.webp 3007w, Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-wide-webp/home-back-wide_q1epvc_c_scale%2Cw_3516.webp 3516w, Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-wide-webp/home-back-wide_q1epvc_c_scale%2Cw_3840.webp 3840w" class="lazyload"> <img data-sizes="auto" srcset="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==" data-srcset=" Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-wide-jpg/home-back-wide_q1epvc_c_scale%2Cw_500.jpg 500w, Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-wide-jpg/home-back-wide_q1epvc_c_scale%2Cw_1656.jpg 1656w, Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-wide-jpg/home-back-wide_q1epvc_c_scale%2Cw_2400.jpg 2400w, Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-wide-jpg/home-back-wide_q1epvc_c_scale%2Cw_3007.jpg 3007w, Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-wide-jpg/home-back-wide_q1epvc_c_scale%2Cw_3516.jpg 3516w, Responsive-Images/Home/back-home/bg-wide-jpg/home-back-wide_q1epvc_c_scale%2Cw_3840.jpg 3840w" class="lazyload" src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==" alt="Full Screen achtergrondfoto met woonamer, daarin een bankstel met Wil Art kussens en schilderijen aan de muur"> </picture>

Thanks Bruce! Want to create a 3 fold brochure in 400 dpi with some text and images. Converted an example from Indesign to PDF to test Publisher. I'm from a webdesign background so dpi is something I never had to think about! But how does the end result turns out when there are a couple of images with different dpi in that brochure? I'm talking about 398 dpi or 404 dpi.

Hi, Just watched some tutorials about placing content in Publisher and noticed that images are scaled to fit (this changes the dpi depending on the size of the image and is not what you want). I always learned that you have to create the exact size and dpi for print and then place it in this case in Publisher. What would be the best way to keep the dpi the same and size your images in Photo. Do you keep it all in points? Please some advice for the best workflow on placing images. Regards & Thanks, David

Studio-Link and Plungins

I don't see it working either from Publisher in Photo! When I go to Filter> Plugins there it stops and no plugins are visible! -
Well if you don't want to use preset templates fine for you make them your self, but don't bother people who want them! Many people would be delighted when all common basic design templates are available as a preset. I remember making all the pixel ratio presets in Photo my self, but I was pleasantly surprised that the Affinity team created the pixel ratio presets in the new Affinity Photo app. I attached an image of a 10 year old app I happen to have and what is the standard of publishing/print to day called Indesign that already had the templates I'm referring to. Regards, David

We have been waiting for the present update for 6 months along with heavy beta testing, I can't understand that tools like the crop tool are not functioning proper after such a long time of beta testing. So time says nothing to me. Instead I hope they do better testing no matter if it takes days or weeks. In the meanwhile it would be nice to know for people who use the Affinity applications professionally what they are up to for the coming time. I do my cropping now in Photoshop, but not everybody has Photoshop and they depend totally on Affinity.

Hi, To see the issue take a huge image and select ratio 4:3 from the presets. Try the crop tool and notice that all presets are displaying the to be cropped area much larger then the image your working on. This implicates that you have to adjust the crop for every single image, with scroll up and scroll down. The previous version used to display the to be cropped area in the center and at the maximum size in height of the image. Is this a error or is there some setting I missed? Regards & Thanks, David
