  1. I'd like to see an option to ensure that every single time I hit 'V', for example, that it goes to the Move Tool. I don't want the 'V' key to also switch to the previously used tool. I'd love for this option to be added and remove the function of hotkeys cycling between the two most recent tools. I only every want the tool that I've selected with the hotkey. Does that make sense? Perhaps I'm alone on this because no search results returned anyone else wanting this.
  2. What's good, savvy people? My name is Tom and I'm a design professional. I spent some time in the media world but got out quick however not without picking up the industry standard Adobe environment workflow and all that comes with that. However, I've since left and although I bought AD and AP when I was working I never had a chance or reason to learn them. So they sat in my dock for about 2 years. I'm out on my own now and the performance is super appealing. Truth is though I'm struggling a lot with the transition. There's a number of workflow things that I just can't seem to shake yet and often I find myself frustrated out of creativity and searching Google for "How to ... ... ... in Affinity Designer" to little avail. I guess that's the life of a pioneer and I see things have come a long way since 2015 when I first opened them, which is so promising. To get me back on a path to success I figured I should try out these forums. Hopefully, they'll provide me with a much needed 'oh I'm not in this alone' feeling - off to read some of the other introductions to see if I'm not wrong!
  3. Hey MEB, Cheers for the speedy response and the welcome. I think I understand what you're saying and it sounds like that will stop the cycling through of tools which have the same shortcut. However, I don't think it will solve the thing I'm struggling most with - which is ensuring every time I hit 'V' for example that it goes to the Move Tool - I don't want the two most recent tools to cycle back and forth. I only every want the tool that I've selected with the hotkey, with no chance of it skipping back to the previous one used. Does that make sense? I can elaborate with a faux scenario if need be. Peace
  4. Well said Mark. This is eloquently put and accurately describes the situation while at the same time it echoes my exact thoughts on why it's so difficult to train oneself in the way of the context-hotkey. It's terribly infuriating and I don't know that Ic an get used to it which is the worst thing. Is there a fix any where that people have found...an option/update that I've missed!?
